Dr. Balesh Baleshan has over 15 years of experience in façade engineering, with a career that includes key roles at GJames, Australia’s leading integrated glass and aluminium manufacturer, and as Façade Engineering Lead (QLD) at Arup, a global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. He has contributed to high-profile projects across sectors including health, infrastructure, science and technology, arts and culture, sports, and major high-rise developments.

Beyond project delivery, Balesh is actively involved in research, higher education, and industry standards development. He played a key role in establishing a university façade engineering course and serves as a technical committee member for multiple Australian Standards, contributing to updates to glazing standards. Balesh has been recognised with the ‘Emerging Leader’ and ‘Standards Hero’ awards by Standards Australia. He has also served as Chair of Engineers Australia’s Structural College Queensland, supporting the development of industry standards and the professional growth of engineers.

Bernat has more than 20 years of experience in the technical ceramic world, particularly in ventilated façade cladding systems.  Having worked in Europe, Asia and now Australia, he possesses a thorough understanding of façade cladding for different markets with different focuses. His extensive manufacturing experience provides him with a unique perspective of how the sustainability trend is impacting the ceramic industry and façade cladding industry.  

Originally from Spain, Bernat as the director of Frontek Australia Pty Ltd was the first to introduce the extruded porcelain cladding to the Australian and New Zealand markets eight years ago.  Frontek Australia has successfully implemented innovative façade solutions in education, health, commercial and residential buildings all over Australia and New Zealand.

Colin has over 40 years of experience in the façade and glass industry across the UK and Australia, providing expert design, specification, and technical support to architects, builders, and clients.

His extensive career has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of modern construction and the practical demands of delivering high-quality façade and glazing solutions.

Having collaborated with architects, fabricators, system houses, and major façade and glass contractors, Colin brings a comprehensive perspective to every project. He is adept at providing clear, detailed, and practical solutions at every stage of the construction process, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.

Specialising in curtain walling, cladding façades, window walls, and engineering solutions, Colin combines technical expertise with practical insight, consistently helping teams achieve exceptional results while maintaining design integrity and performance.

As Partner and Project Design Director, Dan Liddy has been a key part of bureau^proberts practice since 2015. Specialising in the front-end design and procurement process, Dan has a deep appreciation of the design culture and language required within a subtropical setting, and the significance of producing lasting designs.

A strong understanding of local council and government planning legislation is enhanced by Dan’s drive to produce design solutions that are unique yet contextually relevant. Dan believes that Architecture is at its strongest when it exceeds stakeholder expectation not only in its commercial value, but its contribution to the urban fabric.

During his time at bureau^proberts, Dan has led and contributed to the design of some of Queensland’s significant commercial and high-end multi residential developments; including 251 Wickham Street, Glasshouse, Brisbane 1, Arc and Thornton.

As part of the Design Solutions Group, Jess supports architects and designers to specify Lysaght’s roll formed metal roofing and walling products to ensure your projects are technically delivered to design and aesthetic intent.

Joining our Architectural team in January 2023, Jess brings with her a sound foundation in education complementing her 22 year professionally diverse career. She has achieved a Bachelor in Interior Architecture, Masters of Design Science (Sustainable Design) and a Diploma in Renewable Engineering. Jess has a keen passion for sustainability working predominantly in ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design) and has since honed her Business Development Skills in most recent roles for paints & coatings and now roll formed products.

She is a 2018 HIA QLD Women in Construction Nominee and a 2022 Property Industry NSW Future Leaders 40 under 40 nominee and a strong advocate for supporting future Women and Diversity in construction and manufacturing.

Jesse Clarke is a building science specialist at Pro Clima, dedicated to advancing high-performance, energy-efficient construction across Australia and New Zealand. With a deep understanding of hygrothermal behaviour, airtightness, and weather protection systems, Jesse works closely with architects, builders, and consultants to deliver durable, healthy, and low-energy buildings. He is known for translating complex technical concepts into practical, on-site solutions and providing industry leadership through training, research, and technical guidance. Passionate about better building outcomes, Jesse advocates for evidence-based design and continuous improvement within the construction sector.

As an experienced Architect with 25 years of experience both across Australia and internationally, Naveen is a director that combines his passion for design with his understanding of large-scale projects to produce high-quality and innovative designs.

With such extensive experience – on large-scale projects like the Bahrain World Trade Centre towers in his portfolio – Naveen enjoys collaborating with a multitude of project stakeholders to deliver commercially-viable, innovative, and environmentally-driven design solutions. He has an innate ability to understand a project brief and successfully manages the complexities and challenges accompanying large projects.

Nick began his career as a structural engineer with Connell Wagner in 2004, before specialising in glass and façade systems during his time with Dewhurst Macfarlane in New York (2008–10). Since 2011, he has worked as a façade specialist with Arup: initially in Melbourne and now in Adelaide. Nick presently acts as Arup’s ANZ geograpahy Building Envelope Practice and Skills leader. 

A passionate advocate for the Circular Economy, Nick has contributed to research, spoken on expert panels, and advised on Arup’s Circular Building Toolkit. He promotes design approaches that enable disassembly and material re-use across the project lifecycle.

Nick is committed to fostering excellence in both façade design and the consulting profession, by contributing to the industry as a member of Consult Australia’s SA Chapter Committee, a sessional lecturer at the University of Adelaide, and the challenging designers to think holistically, pragmatically from a first principles basis when designing Building Envelopes.

Paresh Dave has been a Sales and Specification Manger – Inside sales at EQUITONE since 2021.

He currently looks after architects and specifiers in New Zealand and Australia (WA, SA, QLD & TAS).

Paresh has a proven track record of 15+ years assisting architects and their projects through conducting CPD’s and product presentations. He strives to support specifiers and their projects at every stage. Actively participating in industry events is what he loves.

Todd provides strategic advice to clients dealing with aging façades including: failure and forensic investigation, condition and diagnostic assessments, life cycle analysis, capital expenditure, maintenance planning, as well as the design of remedial and refurbishment solutions. Having started his career designing and detailing facades, he realised that it was the failure and modification of existing envelopes that interested him the most. He has a keen interest in useful digital data capture onsite, provided this delivers his clients real value and clarity in decision making. Todd is a Chartered Professional Engineer with rope access and confined space access qualifications and has operated as lead investigator on several high-profile existing buildings in the UK, Hong Kong, PNG and Australia.
